Father's Day Fisherman

I've been out and about all weekend. Had a great day yesterday with Lynsey, Will and Grace. Lynsey cooked us a lovely lunch and we were able to have a good crafty chat. I've had no time for crafting but hope to make up for that today. I have one card to share with you though, which was made form the FF retro men's pack. I used the MS cherish punch (again) and the Sizzix primitive star die with a button.

Challenges:
Craft Your Days Away Father's Day

Sailing home

Good evening. I hope you have all had a lovely weekend. We had a great time last night, lovely meal out and then saw Foorloose, which was fantastic. We've been out visiting all day and am out again tomorrow so apologies for not visiting your blogs for a couple of days. Will catch up with you all as soon as I can. It's great to see the entries coming in for the Winter Wonderland bloghop. If you haven't played along yet then I hope you will, as there are 22 prizes up for grabs this week.

Now onto my card, which is a bit of a change for me. When I won 5 digis last week from delicious Doodles, this was one I chose as I thought it would make a great men's card. I left the image black and white as I like the sketchy style of it. I used some scraps of papers and a star punch. I just love bunting and when I saw the fab sketch at Willow Sketchie knew this was the perfect sketch to use.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:
Birthday Sundaes Male Birthday card
Scrapbook Sisters Row, row, row your boat
Simon Says Stars and stripes
Do it with Digis All about the boys
Charisma Boy oh boy

A Hearty Thank You

Good morning everyone and what a dull, chilly and miserable morning it is here in Norfolk. A quick post from me before going to Sainsburys and doing some ironing. Exciting, huh. Still off to the theatre tonight to see Footloose so that should be fun, reliving the 80s.

I've used Hippie Love, another of my new SN Simply Sassy girls. This week at Totally Gorjuss the challenge is String's the Thing. The rest of the DT have been so inventive in the different ways they have used string. After some thought I made this card, mirroring the string of the hearts on the image. Papers are Prima Fairy Flora.

Challenges:
2 Sisters Anything Goes
Sugar Bowl Another fab sketch
Stamp Something Something Sentimental
Divas by Design One for the girls
MPICC Twine, jute or string

I'm also entering this into the Thank you challenge at the SN group on Facebook.

I'm feeling about 90% better now, thank goodness the tablets are working so hopefully the labrynthitis will disappear completely soon. I hope you are all joining in the Winter Wonderland bloghop as there are 22 prizes to be won.

Anniversary mice

This is my second card today. See below for my WW card and the chance to win one of 22 prizes.

I've used this image several times for Anniversary cards as I think it is such a cute image. I made a scalloped card with a Go Kreate die and used First Edition Spring Feast papers. Love the glitter on some of these like the little bird paper. I 3D'd the flower and added some Sakura white souffle dots to the centre. Sentiment is from LOTV, roses from Michaels.

Challenges:
Crafty Catz Pink and green
Craft us Crazy Love
Crafty Sentiments Special Occasions
Paperplay Blossoms and blooms
DYSU Animals
Fab 'n' Funky Cute and cuddly
Penny Black Fussy and fancy
Secret Crafter Wedding Anniversary
Penny Black at Allsorts Shape Up
Sunday Sketch and Stamp Fab sketch which worked really well on a round card

I've been very lucky this week and won two challenges, Willow Sketchie and Delicious Doodles, so lots more lovely images to play with.

Winter Wonderland Bloghop

Winter Wonderland will be 2 on 30 May and we are celebrating by having a week long blog hop. We have 11 sponsors this week, yes, that’s right 11!!! But that’s not all because each member of the DT has some candy to give away too. Both teams are playing along this week plus Janet who joins us at the end of each month so that’s another 11 prizes to be won.
We would like to have as many prize winners as possible so if your name is drawn for more than one prize we will draw again. That means 22 lucky people will win a prize this week. With so many prize winners we won’t be choosing a top 3 just for this week.

All you have to do to join in the fun is:

· Play along with this week’s easy and fun challenge

· Be a follower of Winter Wonderland

· Visit each member of the DT and collect a letter

· Leave them a comment and enter their candy draw

· Rearrange the letters to make a two word Christmas Carol

· E-mail the answer to Winter Wonderland

Of course you don’t have to join in the blog hop if you don’t want to. You can still enter this week’s challenge and be in with the chance of winning one of the 11 prizes this week but why miss out on doubling your chance of winning.

Here's my candy. If you would like to become a follower of this blog, if you're not one already, that would be lovely, but not compulsory to win my candy.

58 K&Co die cuts
2 Prima stamps with gems
78 gems
6 sheets Sizzix rub-ons
Roll of Christmas ribbon

Here's the detail of the K&Co die cuts. These are gorgeous.

To enter my candy you will need to leave me a comment and enter via the link below. The letter you need to collect from me is G.

The next person on the hop is Jane.  Winners will be anounced at 11am on Sunday.

I've used a Pollycraft image and sentiment for my card. Pollycraft are one of our lovely sponsors for the bloghop. The snowflakes were made using Marianne dies and MS punch.

I would also like to enter my card into the challenge of Christmas in May at Creative Inpirations.

Distressed and candy winner

Distressed, I certainly was a little while ago as I couldn't get the camera to work with the computer. Tried connecting the camera as usual, inserting the memory stick, using another memory stick, using another camera, all to no avail. Switched off computer, switched it on again and voila, it worked. Sometimes my technical ability is amazing, lol!!!!!

I have no idea how this card turned out so well as I was feeling worse yesterday and every time I looked down I felt dizzy, which made colouring a real challenge. I can't just do nothing though but did only manage to make one card. I distressed and inked all the edges of the BG Euphoria and Capella papers. The image is Star Dust from SN Simply Sassy range. She is coloured with Promarkers and I added some silver highlights with a Sakura clearstar pen. I added some of my fave Paper Cellar raffia lace, organza ribbon and pearls. Sentiment is from the new Tulip range from Do Crafts.

Challenges:
Sketch Saturday
ABC V is for Violet
Kaboodle Doodles Distressing
Incy Wincy Lavender and lace
Crafty Purple Frog Beautiful things (Everything on my card as they are all some of my faves, especially the colour)
The Crafty Pad Lace and bows
Basic Grey Mix and match (2 paper pads)
I love Promarkers Pearls

I am also entering this into the Thank You challenge on the SN group on Facebook.

And now for the winner of my little candy...............................................................

Congratulations Bettina. Please contact me with your address and I'll get the stamp off in the post to you. There will be more candy tomorrow for

We have so many prizes you must play along this week. After that I shall be celebrating my blogaversary and a very special Wedding Anniversary with even more candy so keep hopping back and you could be the next lucky winner.

Thanks for visiting. I'm going to do some ironing next and then catch up on commenting if Mr Blogger will let me.

Teddy Bo - Beach bum

Thanks to those of you enquiring about my health. Thank goodness I haven't had any more spinning but still dizzy at times. Definitely not at my best at the moment. Dr confirmed it is labyrinthitis and to continue with the tablets. Normally goes within 2 weeks so fingers crossed.

Onto my card which features Teddy Bo. I could buy all these digis but when the new release came out last week this one made me smile so much I just had to buy him. The papers are K&Co Daisy and Americana and the beach ball is also K&Co.  Yes, that's the MS cherish border punch again.  I used my crimper roller for the first time for years. I wanted to give a beachy feel to this card with the ripples and the border which reminds me a bit of waves.

Blogger was playing up with commenting again yesterday, which was annoying as I was feeling a bit better yesterday afternoon and wanted to leave more comments than I managed. Pop up windows worked but after signing in about 20 times and still remaining anonymous I had to give up so apologies.

Tow cards here with similar colour schemes. The top card is a WOJ image, which although not a Christmas image always looks so pretty on Christmas cards. The papers are Dovecraft. Last Humphrey sneak peeks

Well not long now until you can order your Humphrey CDs and stamps. Of course you know that the launch will be on Ideal World at 9pm tonight as the pick of the day. There are loads of programmes tomorrow on both IW and C&C so tune in for the chance to see all the DT's cards and some fab demos. These are the last of my samples I made for these programmes.

As you can see I haven't had to add many embellies to these cards. All the papers and images are from the 2 CDs.

Summer BBQ

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been by to visit for a couple of days. I had scheduled my post for yesterday and this morning for the Humphrey sneak peeks. I woke up about 3am on Sunday, popped to loo, came back to bed and when I lay down the room was spinning as though I was on a fairground ride. I was hanging onto the bed, very scary. I shouted to wake up hubby and he sat me up slowly. I was then violently sick several times. Couldn't lie down or the spinning started again so he rang emergency Dr. They asked lots of questions and as they have a surgery at one of our hospitals gave me an appointment at 9.15. Dr was very nice and said I had either had labyrinthitis (which I had last year, without the violent spinning, just dizziness) or a form of vertigo called BPPV for short. Both are caused by imbalance of inner ear. She gave me a prescription for some tablets which seem to be working although I couldn't lie down last night so spent night sleeping propped up with various cushions from sofa and pillow. Just feeling a bit weak and wobbly today. Going to see my Dr on Wednesday. I am struggling a bit with using the computer, thank goodness for spellchecker, so hope you understand if I don't comment on your posts as much as usual.

I have a LOTV bear to share with you today. Papers are Papermania Hampstead, which are some of my faves and haven't been used for ages.  Not much need for embellishment with these papers. I used the MS cherish punch again, added a Papermania sparkly strip and some card candi.

Challenges:
Card and a half Fab sketch which I rotated
Lili of the Valley Here comes Summer
Delicious Doodles Let the sun shine
Pile it on You're my beary best friend
Stamptacular Bearnecessities

One more day to launch date

If this is your first sight of Humphrey's Corner where have you been the last week? The response the DT is getting to these sneak peeks is wonderful and with cute images like this is no surprise. I just can't decide which is my favourite. Everything on this card is from the CD (except the card for layering of course).  The decoupage has so many layers it really stand out and I love the little heart buttons.

Only one day to go and then you'll be able to buy the double CD and set of 6 stamps for yourselves. Of course if you would like the chance to win a set then click on Humphrey's badge above my photo.

Sunday 22 May 2011

Sunday's Humphrey sneak peek

This is one of my favourite decoupages from the Humphrey double CD from Crafter’s Companion . You can resize the decoupage from A4 to mid size or A5 which is the size I used here.  I wanted to base the colour scheme on his suit so used the colouriser to produce grey checked paper and layered everything on black pearlised card and used black ribbon.. I added some red check paper for a bit of a zing to match the red in the decoupage.

If you haven't caught up with Humphrey yet then scroll down for more sneak peeks. One of Thursday's posts includes information on your chance to win the double CD and set of 6 stamps.

Saturday 21 May 2011

My first Sassy girl

This is my third post for today and features one of my brand new Sassy girls from Sugar Nellie. I decided I could resist no more and bought 4 of them. I wanted to go for a retro flowery look as she reminds me of the 60s and 70s so used these old Dovecraft papers. I teamed them with some flowery ribbon, MS punched border and punched flowers for an over the top flowery look. The MS flower punch matches the flowers on the papers. Expect to see more of these girls soon.

Count your Rainbows

Good morning everyone, another sunny day here. This is my second post today, see below for a very cute Humphrey card. We could certainly do with some rain here, the poor garden is really suffering, overnight rain would be perfect. The challenge this week at Totally Gorjuss is Water, Water. I had so many choices of image to use for my DT card but I have been longing to use this Inkadinkadoo sentiment so decided to use this Little Claire image. I added glitter round the image and glossy accents for the rain and puddles. The striped paper is some old Papermania paper, the first pad I ever bought. The red is K&Co Americana punched with an MS punch. Do hop over and see all the wonderful watery creations for the rest of the DT and join in for your chance to win a voucher for Simon Says.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:

Saturday's Humphrey Sneak Peek

Today's Humphrey card is an 8" square card using one of the A5 decoupage sheets from the double CD. If you haven't caught up with the launch yet then please see my previous posts including information on how to win the double CD and 6 stamps. I used paper from the CD, pearlised card which I embossed and some ribbon I bought for Easter cards in America, which matched the image perfectly. Assorted Prima flowers and card candi to finish.

Humphrey will be launched on Ideal World on Tuesday at 9pm but there'll be more sneak peeks until then.

Friday 20 May 2011

Little drummer boy

This is my second post for today. Scroll down if you are looking for today's Humphrey card. I've made an 8" square male Birthday card, wasn't that brave!!  I really wanted to showcase this fab digi  image from Pollycraft. The paper is from HOTP. I remembered I had some star pins which worked so well with the Sizzix cut stars. The MS cherish punch has been out again. I sorted through my brads and found the lovely metallic square and large round ones which add a bit more detail and shine. The sentiment is from the FF retro kit. Sizzix cut corners to finish.

Another sneak peek and exciting news

OK, I'm spoiling you today with yet another sneak peek at Humphrey's Corner. I just had to use this topper from the CD, not only did that mean a purple card but a girly one too. I used scraps of papers left from making my other cards. I based this card on an idea in a magazine. It didn't explain how to make it too well but I worked it out, changing it to suit my image and my paper scraps. I used Go Kreate dies for the image and layering. Once again the topper has been 3D'd. Flowers were made with MS and Xcut punches and gems.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
CD Sunday Die Cutting
My Mum's Craft Shop Anything but Square

Now, have you spotted my new badge above my photo? If you click the badge it will take you to Humphrey's Corner at Crafter’s Companion where you can find more cards and projects, including details of how to make the card I featured in my first sneak peek. If you add the badge to your blog linking it to Humphrey's Corner at Crafter’s Companion and then visit Crafter’s Companion News, Views and Inspiration Blog and add your name to Mister Linky you could be the winner of all 6 stamps and both CDs. How fab is that, a prize worth over £50!

Humphrey sneak peek 4

Good morning everyone and welcome to my new followers. After some gloomy days the sun is shining again and I'm here with another sneak peek of the new launch from Crafter's Companion. This is another of those images that just makes me smile. There are 2 CDS and this one is from the Occasions CD. Fabulous decoupage and lovely papers. I've used my 2 MS heart punches, Prima flowers and gems. I would like to enter this into the challenge of 1 image, 2 papers and 3 different types of embellishment at Card Makin Mamas.

I will be back with at least one more card later today including another sneak peek.  Only one week left to enter my candy.

I'm back with my second post for today so please scroll down for a sneak peek at Humphrey. I haven;t used this stamp for ages and thought it would be perfect for another Father's Day card. Sneak peek 3

Well you all seem to be enjoying these sneak peeks of the new Humphrey images from Crafter's Companion. I hope you're managing to catch more of these wonderful cards. There are so many images it was hard to choose which ones to use but when I saw this one it made me laugh out loud so I knew I had to use this diamond twisterpage (yes, that was new to me too). He looks so sheepish (can an elephant look sheepish?) at being give her heart. I used some more of the gorgeous pearlised card from Crafter's Companion and embossed it with hearts. I made the flowers with EK Success punches and scraps of paper, adding pearls to the middles. All papers are from the CDs.

I would like to enter this into the challenges at:
Ladybug Crafts Ink Is that oranges I can smell?
Fab 'n' funky Make your own flowers

Shall I show you another sneak peek today, mmmm, maybe. Hop back later to find out.

Sneak peek 2

As promised this morning I'm back with sneak peek number 2 of the new Humphrey collection from Crafter's Companion. Scroll down for number 1 if you haven't seen it. These are such adorable images and the papers on the CDs are so pretty. There is the usual colouriser so you can make the papers any colour you like. I've used a topper again for this one and 3D'd her. The font on the sentiments is also very cute.  I wanted to really create a beautiful frame for her so I used my new Darice embossing folder and pearl cardstock, both from Crafter's Companion. I distressed the embossing and the edges of the paper, before inking. I added some knotted ribbon and layered up some flowers from stash.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Humphrey sneak peek 1

As promised yesterday here is my first sneak peek of the fabulous new launch from Crafter's Companion. You are going to love Humphrey and his friends and family. I was asked to make samples from the CD and there was no stopping me, from decoupage, pyrimage, toppers, papers, so much to choose from and so cute and comical. I can't wait to share them with you.

I made my first ever joy fold card for this one. The main image is 3D'd. Everything except the bow comes from the CD. I used my first ever MS punch on this one, still one of my favourite punches. I would like to enter this into the challenge of look what the stork brought at Simon Says.

There has been a real change in the weather the last couple of days and we've at last had some much needed rain. Must do some housework and ironing today but I'll be back later with another sneak peek as I have so many to share with you. The DT will all be sharing their cards with you right up to launch day on 24 May.

Which Tie?

I have been very busy working on a very exciting new launch for Crafter's Companion. Tomorrow I will be bringing you the first sneak peek and I can't wait to show you this new range which you are going to love. I have also been making some more Father's Day cards and made this one using the Tatty Ted pack. I just added some card candy to match the tie colours. No challenges for a change just thought I would share this with you.

Pub night out

Here's something a little different today. A fun card featuring a DigiStamp Boutique image for their monthly competition. The playing cards were from a Christmas cracker 3 or 4 years ago. Much better than the usual rubbish you get in crackers as I've used a few of these over the years. They have Alice in Wonderland so both sides of these make an unusual embellishment. The papers are K&Co Hopscotch and I've used my MS Cherish punch.

Other challenges:
Cards for Men For Someone special
Papertake Fancy a punch
Crafts and Me Punches
Crafts 4 Eternity Colour challenge
Stamp, scrap and doodle Saturdays Old supplies
The Crafty Pad Holes

I made top 3 this week at A gem of a Challenge and Little Claire, whoopee.

Christmas present

Thank goodness blogger is back at last. Hope it doesn't overheat now as we all rush to use it and upload our cards. Yesterday's post is still missing. Will it come back, who knows? This week at Winter Wonderland Jane has challenged us with Christmas presents. I used an old FF stamp, teamed with some DCWV Christmas papers, lots of glitter, pearls and a border cut with a Marianne icicle die. Challenges:

Let's play golf

Tuesday night hubby was downloading some updates to the laptop and the option to upgrade to Internet Explorer 9 came up so he downloaded it. Yesterday when I went to use it I was tearing my hair out as it is so different. I had to find my favourites but the worst was using blogger. It kept stopping and when I opened up several blogs at once to link my card I hated the way it did it. So we uninstalled it and I'm now back to version 8 so my advice is don't try it as blogger doesn't seem to like it.

My card today is another Father's day card using one of the great male Digistamp Boutique images so I would like to enter this into their monthly competition. Papers are some of the last of K&Co Hopscotch. The golf clubs and ball are K&Co and I added some card candi. The sketch at Sunday sketch and stamp was perfect for this card and I am also entering the someone special challenge at Cards for Men.

Don't forget to enter my candy for a gorgeous princess stamp.

Mice icing

Another gorgeous sunny morning here. At least we did get some overnight rain on Saturday and Sunday but it's unbelievable weather for May. Got some gardening done yesterday as well as cleaning, shopping and ironing so after catching up on blogging there wasn't much time left for crafting. However I did manage to make one card and I finally got round to using this LOTV stamp I bought from the last release. This image does make me smile, there's such a lot going on. The papers are Dovecraft and Laura Ashley. I used my new cupcake embossing folder from Craft Concepts, perfect for this image.I also used my new MS topiary punch, then covered most of it up with flowers and leaves!

Swinging Time

I'm really enjoying making male cards and these LOTV boys are just so cute. I really like having lots of different angles on cards. Papers are some very old Dovecraft ones. I decided to go with something different from buttons and/or stars for my embellies. I simply cut some blue and peach squares and topped them with some very old Dovecraft chipboard squares. The MS zigzag punch has come out again, just love it for male cards especially.

Regular readers will know that I was very lucky to win £30 to spend on Squiggle Stamps, I bought several digis and duplicated two of those in rubber to give away so that I could share my good fortune with two of my lovely followers. I just want to say thank you for all the lovely comments you leave me.

Here is the first one, Miss Evie Princess. I printed my digi to show you what she look like.  If you would like her to arrive through your letterbox here's what you have to do:
  • Be a follower of my blog
  • Post a pic and link in your sidebar
  • Enter via the link below.
Candy closes on 25th May and will be drawn on 26th May. There will be more candy on 27th for the Winter Wonderland blog hop.

I like driving in my car

I hope you have all had a good weekend. A quick post from me as I haven't had any time for cardmaking this weekend (shock, horror!). I thought I would share this card which I made for a friend's Birthday this week. Everything is from the Forever Friends pack except the card candi and ribbon. I used my lovely MS cherish punch. Having been out all weekend I've chores to catch up on tomorrow but hope to make some crafting and blogging time.

Are these headphones big enough?

Another glorious sunny day here. We went to the coast and visited a new craft shop where they had MS PATP punches on opening offer for £20. Now I can't resist a bargain and found a new set there, topiary, so they hopped into my basket along with a few other bits (not much, honest).  It's another car using one of my new Pollycraft digis. Papers are K&Co Roam with a scalloped K&Co border, which matched perfectly. Sentiment is from the FF set and some card candi to finish.

Challenges:
Crafts 4 Eternity Fab sketch, which would be great for a scrapbook page too
Craft Your Days Away Music and dance
Crafty Cardmakers Machines
Pollycraft Anything Goes

Thanks for all your lovely comments. I try to visit you as often as I can and comment back. I'm out all day again tomorrow but will catch you as soon as I can.  I also want to give you a heads up on an exciting blog hop coming at Winter Wonderland on 27th May when we celebrate our second Birthday. Loads and loads of prizes up for grabs so be sure to catch that. I will also have some candy coming soon so stay tuned.

Hanging around

This week at Totally Gorjuss Net has given us a great sketch to use and here's my DT card using Tatty Ted papers and decoupage. This week we are sponsored by Joanna Sheen so hop over and check out the rest of the DT's lovely cards and come and play with the sketch.

Have a great weekend everyone.

I love my dog

Good evening everyone. I'm back with a second post today. Blogger is really annoying me at the moment as it keeps wanting me to sign in every day. I tried to leave some comments this morning but it just didn't want to play so I'll try again this evening. Everything is ready for my craft fair on Sunday so I then had time to play with one of my new digi images from Pink Gem. I used some of my fave K&Co papers, Hopscotch along with a new pad, Americana. I wanted to pick up on the stars on his outfit to used my MS star punch and CB embossing folder on some pearlised card. The sticky glitter strip I found in my stash, and yes it is wide one side than the other coz that's how it is made. I had a habit of collecting brads at one point and have so many that I thought I would use some in the corners as embellies for a change from buttons.
